Grade 3-6 Evaluations

It is recommended that players planning on playing Travel Soccer attend. Due to field availability, there are no make-up or alternate dates to these sessions. Sign-up for the sessions must be completed no later than Thursday, May 15th.

It is recommended that players planning on playing Travel Soccer attend. Due to field availability, there are no make-up or alternate dates to these sessions. Sessions are scheduled to last for one hour, the players will participate in a game like scrimmage during their session (there are no skills or physical tests). Sessions are broken out by the program players are participating in (Girls Travel / Boys Travel) and by grade level (as of Fall 2025).

May 18th - Grades 3rd - 6th (rising):
Girls Travel:

Grade 3 - 10:00am - 11:00am (Franklin Fields)
Grade 4 - 12:30pm - 1:30pm (Franklin Fields)
Grade 5 - 9:30am - 10:30am (West Side Knoll)
Grade 6 - 12:00pm - 1:00pm (West Side Knoll)

Boys Travel:

Grade 3 - 11:15pm - 12:15pm (Franklin Fields)
Grade 4 - 1:45pm - 2:45pm (Franklin Fields)
Grade 5 - 10:45am - 11:45am (West Side Knoll)
Grade 6 - 1:15pm - 2:25pm (West Side Knoll)

There is no need to contact us if your player cannot attend. On the date of the on-field evals, we ask that players are dropped off 10 minutes prior to their assigned session. There is not sufficient parking at the fields to accommodate parents staying and watching. We kindly ask you to remain off the fields so we can assess the players as efficiently as possible. Parents/caregivers will be asked to leave the field space to a location which is not visible to players on the field.

These On-Field sessions which include independent professional evaluators will provide additional feedback on top of that received from Travel Coordinators, Age Directors, and Coaches. This additional information helps Melrose Youth Soccer build teams that are appropriately matched for Division placement which makes for a better experience for our players.

Note that signing up for Evaluations is not a registration for the Fall Season. Registration for the Fall Season will open later in the Spring for both Travel and City. Stay tuned for more information on Fall registration. Please always feel free to reach out as we are available to talk with parents and caregivers about what a player can work on to improve their game.
