Our currently open registrations are below.  If you don't see any information listed, we don't have any programs currently open for registration.  If you have a question, please contact our registrar at [email protected]. 

If you are new to SportsConnect, it will ask you a bunch of questions about name and contact info.  If you have used SportsConnect elsewhere (e.g. Melrose Rec, Mass Youth Soccer, etc.) with the the same contact info, you may find you can skip over some of the steps. 

When completing any of the registrations below, please note that you should not enter a birth certificate.  It is not something that Melrose Youth Soccer collects but Mass Youth Soccer won't let us delete the question from our form.  So please just ignore the question and skip over it. 

Since Mass Youth Soccer's age ranges include overlap, you may find your child fits into two possible age groups.  Please choose the correct one by grade and then confirm that when you select the grade that your player will be in during the soccer season. 

During registration, you'll be asked to agree to the Mass Youth Soccer "Release of Liability" which references a couple of other policies which you can read here:  Massachusetts Youth Soccer Codes of Conduct and Zero Tolerance Policy, Massachusetts Youth Soccer Privacy Notice. 

If you are volunteering to coach, note that the registration will accept lots of additional info for you but it's best to only do the required content for now.  If you are needed as a coach or assistant, you'll receive follow up info about what you will need to complete.  And although you might be willing to fulfill any of the team management positions, just select the one you are best suited for and then e-mail the coordinator that you are available for others if needed. 

Registration Fees

The fee for registering for any program is $150.  It includes a uniform (one per soccer year which is two seasons) and all activities during the season.  Most other cities and towns charge more and/or require that parents pay for the uniform separately.  So at $150, Melrose has one of the lowest fees in our region.  See below if you need financial assistance.  

Family Max

We had previously capped registration fees for a family with a family max.  We have decided to shift to not automatically providing that cap and instead offering it through our Financial Assistance program.  If you have three kids and you need assistance for the third in the same way that the family max had previously provided, follow the directions below for Financial Assistance and note that information when requesting.  

Financial Assistance

Melrose Youth Soccer is committed to making sure all kids who live in Melrose can play soccer regardless of financial situation.  If you would like to request financial assistance, please send an e-mail message with the first and last name of the players requesting assistance to [email protected].  You will receive a reply containing instructions about proceeding with the registration process.

Uniforms

Uniforms are free to registered players once per soccer year - Fall and Spring.   It is expected that players receiving a uniform for the Fall will use the same uniform in the Spring.  If a player needs a uniform in the Spring and had received one in the fall, you may be charged a fee for a replacement uniform. 

During the Fall registration process, you'll be asked for the correct size Jersey, Shorts, and Socks for your player so please think about the right size for the Fall season and the following Spring season.  You will not be asked during the Spring registration process because you'll be using the same uniform from the Fall but if you didn't play in the fall, you can contact your coach to let them know you need a Spring uniform.  

Gender Identity

Although Massachusetts Youth Soccer requires asking that players be identified as either Female or Male, Melrose Youth Soccer supports transgender and gender expansive youth playing soccer on a team that best aligns with their identity.   During registration for gender-based teams, please register your child for the gender based league in which they wish to play.
